Stoke beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Saturday, but Cameron was not involved, sitting out the first of a three-game suspension for a red card picked up in the FA Cup loss to Blackburn. He is eligible to play again March 14, when Stoke visit West Brom.
While Cameron didn’t play in the aforementioned game with Villa, Guzan was between the sticks for
Tim Howard (Everton)
However, Howard was at fault for both of Leicester’s goals in Everton’s 2-2 draw with the Foxes. He twice spilled crosses that led directly to goals for Leicester in a game Everton should have won. This was after a good showing in the Europa League on Thursday, when he made seven saves in a 4-1 win over Young Boys.
DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)
Yedlin did not play for either Spurs’ first team or U-21s this week.
Gedion Zelalem (Arsenal)
Zelalem had an assist for Arsenal’s U-18 side in a 3-2 loss to Crewe Alexandra in the FA Youth Cup.
Regular national teamers not in the Premier League
Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes)
Bedoya was not selected for Nantes’ 1-0 loss to league-leading Lyon on Sunday.
Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht)
Turns out there’s a reason Anderlecht haven’t been picking Sacha Kljestan recently: He no longer plays for them. He was purchased by the New York Red Bulls on Jan. 28, which somehow went over our heads. Oops. Well, this will be the last time Kljestan is mentioned in this space, so, fare thee well.
John Anthony Brooks (Hertha Berlin)
Brooks played 90 minutes in Hertha’s 2-1 loss to Wolfsburg and was his side’s best defender, earning a 6.6 rating on Whoscored.com against the Bundesliga’s second-placed side.
Timothy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Eintracht lost 3-1 to Mainz on Saturday, with Chandler playing outside back for his side. It’s good to see Chandler get continue to get selected consistently, but it’s always disappointing for a defender when your team gives up three goals.
Julian Green (Hamburg, on loan from Bayern Munich)
Green has been struggling to crack the starting eleven and was again a spectator this weekend as Hamburg tied Monchengladbach 1-1.
Fabian Johnson (Borussia Monchengladbach)
The winger was lackluster and did nothing of note as the German side travelled to face Sevilla in the Europa League. The Spaniards won 1-0. He did not play in the Bundesliga game.
Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar)
Johannsson has not played since the fifth of February and again watched from the sidelines as Alkmaar defeated Go Ahead Eagles (yes that’s a real team) 2-0.
Others on the USMNT fringes (or other notables)
Emerson Hyndman (Fulham)
Hyndman remains sidelined with a broken collarbone.
Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest)
The Forest defender played a solid ninety minutes is his squad’s 4-1 dismantling of Bolton. While he did not do anything major of note, the team played well and Lichaj continues to get action in the starting XI.
Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers)
Lichaj’s success was Ream’s nightmare. His club conceded twice in the first 20 minutes and the left back was yanked just 33 minutes into the game after colliding with the post. Ream is out for Wanderers’ Tuesday fixture but his scans came back negative and he could return to action soon.
Terrence Boyd (RB Leipzig)
Boyd was not selected in Leipzig’s 1-1 draw against Braunschweig.
Bobby Wood (Erzegebirge Aue)
An unfortunate turn for Wood who was finding form, the Hawaiian was tackled awkwardly and suffered a partial ligament tear in his right knee. Luckily, he is only thought to be out for about two months.
Rubio Rubin (FC Utrecht)
Rubin was again not selected this week as Utrecht drew 1-1 against Heracles.
